Useful for my small shop

I was looking for a way to let customers add extra options to products, so I got the Product Add-Ons extension. It was pretty easy to figure out how to set up the different fields on my product pages. Had a small question about some styling, but their support documentation was actually helpful, which was nice. It's been working fine for my small jewelry shop, no complaints so far. Made it much simpler for customers to customize their orders, and that's what I needed.

The core plugin is free, yeah. But you definitely pay for hosting and any premium extensions you need. It adds up.

It's free to start, but you'll almost certainly need some paid extensions for specific features. I'd say plan for that in your budget. And hosting isn't free, obviously.

WooCommerce needs WordPress knowledge, so if they're not familiar with that, it's a learning curve. BigCommerce might be easier out of the box.

If they don't want to mess with code or hosting, BigCommerce is probably simpler. WooCommerce is super customizable but often needs a dev or someone comfortable with WordPress backend stuff.

From my experience, no, it's usually just one. You'd have to do separate purchases if you have different codes for different items.
